Has anyone become a life coach successfully?

I am considering becoming a life coach on the advice of some friends I helped through a bad spot. The problem is, I’m not sure if one needs to be certified or if the certification programs are scams. Is anyone doing this for a living? What are some good programs to check out? (Yes, I appreciate the humor in asking for advice on life-coaching.)
Not to be rude to those entrepreneurial souls among us, but please don’t link me to some site you’re hawking which will not help me. I’m actually seeking information.
I’ve looked online; that’s where I see the certification courses. I just don’t know how reliable they are.

Danny Bonaduce on WYSP – 94.1 FM in Philadelphia – has a 15 minute a day Life Coach segment on his radio show – even has his own Theme song with a hard rock beat

very few people probably make a living – you have to be very charismatic, have to put a lot of time and money into having free seminars to convince people you might be able to help them – probably a degree in Psychology or something related would be standard or like Danny B – done everything worng in your life and know how to benefit from that knowledge ad help others

google for information – if there is any – it will be on the internet somewhere

some positive thinking techniques for exams?

What are some ways in which someone can learn positive thinking techniques?
and also, what are some positive things they can say to themselves?

You can do a process called visualization. The night before the exam (or even minutes before the exam) close your eyes and visualize yourself effortlessly answering the exam. Visualize yourself being relaxed and happy. This way, your brain will know what you desire and then it will find ways on how to make this visualized image come true.

You can also say to yourself, "I am totally resourceful while answering this exam" or "I am intelligent" or "I am confident that I will score high on this exam" etc.

Hope this helps and good luck! =D

I’m graduating this year and am unsure about what I want to do. Someone I know told me about life coaching and?

it sounds really interesting and definitely something I would like doing. I’m having a hard time finding details on the internet though. If anyone has any knowledge or advice about life coaching it would be greatly appreciated.

I need some Life Advice/Life Coaching? Much appreciated for your answers?

I’m 24 and I’ve been thinking a lot about moving or staying in my current location (Chicago area), making new friends, finding a passion. I NEED A CHANGE! Or I think I do. So I’m looking for people to share life lessons with me, past mistakes, past regrets, etc. Also, I’m wondering, in your opinion, if you’re me, where would you be living and what would you be doing at my age. Where= any state, country, city. I like details. More details = best answer point. Thanks!

finding your passion is the key. all else will follow.

Does positive thinking ever work?

I have been advised to use positive thinking to help me with my depression.
I can see how it would work, as I am afraid to go out in the world and afraid I will fail, but I am not convinced. Any thoughts on this?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it don’t. If you feel more needs to be done, don’t feel bad if it comes down to medication. After SO many years of denying my problems, I did have to get put on meds, and they actually work. Thing is, you just have to find the right doctor who will actually listen to you and not twist your words around. After I was put on the right combo of medication I am so happy that I am not scared or ashamed to be MYSELF. But if you still don’t want to go the medication route, be sure to get PLENTY of sun. The sun puts off rays of light that actually WILL cheer you up. That is why they sell "sun lamps" in certain places. I hope you feel better. Good luck!

Success coaching – pay after you succeed?

you know the success coaching that has become really popular these days – people helping you to make your dreams come true – get the job you really want etc. I think it would be great to do something like that, but offer it to the poor people who can’t afford it – they are the ones who really need it. The way I would do that is by letting people pay after they have succeeded.

Anyone like the idea? Interested in helping? Would you use a service like this?

In theory it sounds great, but keep in mind results would be all based on effort. Not everybody is willing to put forth the effort needed (I’m not talking just about people with financial difficulties.) Maybe you could offer discounted rates or offer payment plans.
