Creativity And Original Thinking: Suggestions From Personal Experience.

Why is it that ideas can flow so freely sometimes and then be as elusive as a leaf floating down a stream? I’ve wondered that a lot when I was under a deadline, either at school or more recently for my livelihood.

Over the years I have used a few tricks to get me unstuck when I absolutely had to be creative at that moment with no option of waiting. The goal is to get the mind off the track it is on…that’s why you feel stuck. Your mind is closed in on one solution, one path….as if it’s a horse wearing blinders.

The first order of business is to relax and know that the good ideas are just waiting to come out. Remind yourself that you are a creative genius. Your mind is a miracle and it’s actually at your command. Belief is important, just as it is with any successful endeavor. It’s also time for a state change, meaning a physical change of state. Go walk around the block. Execute some jumping jacks. I like to play a couple good dancing tunes and have some fun with it. Standing, stretching and walking around the room may be enough.

You should be in a more positive mental frame of mind now. You know you can come up with some ideas and you are even looking forward to the process. You might do a quick review of your project, not a lengthy review. Flip though the plans, proposals, pictures, ad copy, whatever.

Do a small word association game: write down one word having to do with your project. For example, perhaps I need to create a landscape piece for a client. I’ll write the word landscape at the top of the paper, then quickly write down words that come to my mind. I’ll have a list of words about color or actual places or kinds of foliage or weather, etc. You see, even though my project is visual, I use word association to get ideas. Try this with several aspects of you project/problem. Does your project have a name? Use that name for a word association exercise.

If I still need more input, I’ll ask myself some questions. Who is this for? What is the goal? What if I changed the whole thing? What would it look like? What really matters? I’ll even ask myself questions like: What if I don’t get this done? At least I’ll find out how important it is!

OK, so I need a bit more help. Here’s where I’ll lean back in my chair, close my eyes and take a few minutes to visualize. What am I visualizing? I’m visualizing delivering the project. Why? Perhaps I will see into the future as to what the final product looks like! Remember, this is a game. Have fun and you might come up with something really insightful.

I know there’s lots of good ideas flowing, but just in case you need some more help. I can only remember having to do something like this once. A good idea usually comes in the first or second exercise. You want at least 6 small (maybe 3×3) pieces of paper. Take your lists you just wrote and tear them into pieces so you can still read them. Better yet, you can create some more words and/or pictures. Use shapes or colors to represent parts of your project. Play mix-n-match with these papers. Shuffle them. Drop them on the floor and see where they end up. You could even cut out relevant magazine pictures and do this activity. You’ll already have some great ideas, so you probably won’t have to go this far!

Relaxing is very important. Stress tightens everything including your creativity. Relaxation helps those creative juices to flow. Get comfortable and enjoy the ride.

Thinking About Getting a Dog? Read This First

If you are considering adding a dog to your household, you should stop and consider the long term expenses involved. Don’t misunderstand me, I think a dog is a great addition to a family, but it should not be an impulsive decision. Even if you choose to adopt a puppy or a dog from a shelter or rescue, there will be costs, both at the start and throughout the life of your new furry friend. Long term costs will vary depending on the size and type of dog you choose.

A pet store is not a good place to buy a puppy because many of these pups come from puppy mills and may have serious health or behavior problems. Adopting a dog or puppy from a shelter or a rescue can cost between $100 and $250. This usually includes shots and spaying or neutering. A small dog will obviously need a small crate and it is cheaper to feed a small dog. Other initial expenses include, bowls, leash, collar, tags, license and toys. This can range in costs from $35 to $50. For a small dog, routine veterinary care, flea and tick control, and heartworm medicine can cost as much as $300 to $500 a year. Training and boarding will be additional costs and certain breeds of small dogs require regular professional grooming.

For a medium to large size dog, 50 pounds and over, it can cost as much as $500 a year for a high quality kibble. Most of the other required expenses are higher for bigger dogs, including a bigger crate, bigger collar, bigger dog bed, higher dose of flea/tick and heartworm medicine…you get the idea.

If you choose to buy a puppy from a breeder, you will spend anywhere from $800 to $2000 depending on the breed, with the average cost being around $1200. This may sound like a lot of money to spend on a dog but there are advantages to buying from a reputable breeder. You will be guaranteed a physically sound, healthy pup with a stable temperament. You will likely be able to see the pups parents and see a record of the pedigree. If you want to buy a pure breed dog, make sure to do your research. There are many things to consider before you decide if a certain dog is right for you or your family. There are shelters and rescues full of pure breed dogs because the owners didn’t do their homework.

If you and your family decide to make the commitment, you will be happy to do whatever is needed to keep you new family member happy and healthy. Owning a dog or dogs is so rewarding and such a positive, beneficial experience it is worth the price, no matter the actual dollar amount. You will be paid back in unconditional love, devotion and fun for many years. You will have a best friend and protector for your children and you will have a furry family member that will lift your spirits, no matter how down you may feel.

10 pts to first one who answers ALL correctly?

A dozen Royals gathered round,
Entertained by two who clowned.
Each King there had servants ten,
Though none of them were also men.
The lowest servant sometimes might,
Defeat the King in a fair fight.
A weapon stout, a priceless jewel,
The beat of life, a farmer’s tool.

What are we talking about here folks?

>>>>>>

This is an unusual paragraph. I’m curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong with it! In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out! Try to do so without any coaching!

A beggar’s brother died, but the man who died had no brother.

How could this be?

Good Luck!!!!!!

1. A deck of cards
2. There are no e’s in the paragraph.
3. The beggar was female.

Is this a good essay?

Softball, my love
As the front window of our one story house, in Wildomar, lay shattered in a thousand pieces, my mom runs in only to shout, “Put that down!” I was only about three at the time, but it was the first time I had ever held a softball bat, but unquestionably not the last.
I don’t recall ever really wanting to play a sport, but on my fourth birthday, my dad decided that he wanted me to play softball for Menifee Valley Girls T-ball. I still remember the day so well, even at such a young age. As soon as I stepped out onto that newly cut landscaped field, with my brand-new equipment, I knew I had fallen in love-with softball.
I had no idea how to play the game, let alone how to throw a ball. During the first few practices, my head was spinning out of control trying to learn how to run the bases, catch a slowly-hit grounder, and other difficult-at-the-time plays. And I didn’t like the sport, not at all. But I stuck to it because the Rose family isn’t quitters. My family has always told me to never give up. And I never did, which really helped me throughout life, too, and not just on the field. Thank God or I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Rose 2
I’m now fifteen years old and still struggling from an excruciatingly painful back injury, still play softball to this day. Doesn’t matter if I’m in pain or not, nothing can keep me from playing the game I love. My coaches, and my teammates, mean a lot to me, probably because they share the same interest as me. Not only that, but they help me when I don’t quit get a certain drill. They help me cope with problems and have the ability to assist me to gain my strength not only physically, but mentally as well. Also, they guide me to pursue my future in getting a softball scholarship and maybe one day playing in the 2016 Softball Olympics in Denmark.
I love softball, period. And I couldn’t imagine my life without it. The blood-tingling, hair-raising, mind-blowing, yet strenuous and challenging game is on my mind, twenty-four-seven. It has made me a better person in ways only some could come to realize. It has taught me that I’m not always the center of attention, life’s not always going to go the way I want it to, to stand up for myself, strength, leadership, and above-all, courage. It has taught me most not to fear anything; to just overcome that fear. And as a cunning man once stated, “Never let the fear or striking out keep you from playing the game,” or how I interpret it: Embrace failure as a learning tool of life. Learn from your mistakes. It keeps me intact on my everyday challenges. So, basically, everyone was put on Earth for a reason. Everyone was bound to do something with their life. Mine just so happens to play an exquisite game of pure bravery and knowledge only few could manage: Softball, my love.

ANY EXTRA IDEAS/HELP WOULD BE GREAT! :)

For once!!! Someone who can actually write an essay!! This is great!! I didn’t find ANY errors in it at all! It’s organized, interesting, and all of the above!
I’m not just saying this to try and get best answer.. I read the entire thing and it actually is REALLY good!

Has anyone tried life coaching?

I`ve won a 30 day email programme, book and 2 x 30 mins telephone sessions.
I only entered the competition for the runners up prizes, but I`ve won this instead.
If you have done it, did it change your life? Or is it a waste of time?
Btw – I wasn`t sure which category to put this in.

I have tried it with a few different coaches and had some good experiences and some not so great experiences. For me it was useful. But I think much depends on the individual and the coach. Some people don’t like to discuss details of their life with a "stranger" over the phone. Others have no problem with that and indeed find it easier than talking about goals or problems with people they know. Much like any profession, the quality of life coaches varies widely, and the important part is to find someone you are comfortable with. Some are great, some are a waste of time. Many offer a free first session; use it to find out if the person "feels right". I wouldn’t expect it to radically change your life. I might expect it to help with aspects of your life. The key, as with many things, is how hard you are willing to work. A coach can only guide you; he or she can’t do it for you. I like Stacy at Footstepsforward; but that’s just me. I’d say to give your coach a try, but have a goal in mind that you can accomplish in a month or else I wouldn’t be surprised if you did get a sales pitch.

How much does a Tony Robbins life coach cost?

I would like to give a month of life coaching to both my brother and mother for a Christmas present. I have looked but can’t find actual prices anywhere. I just need a ballpark figure so I can know if I can afford it or not. Do you know what it costs?

They have different levels of coaching such as elite or master coaching. The lowest (elite) runs somewhere around $400/month if you pre-pay for at least 6 months. Otherwise, it’s over $600.

Has the "Law of Attraction" worked for you? in positive thinking…CURIOUS!!!?

example
- creating a vision board
- positive energy flow and thinking
- unconscious orders to the universe
- language rules your life
- true forgiveness
I am curious if it has truly worked for you out there.
Because of experience at the back on my mind i am cynical, logical vs more free spirited as i was before.
So…has it worked for you?

No. In fact, even if if had, I wouldn’t know it.
Even if the law of attraction weren’t bull and did work, I still wouldn’t know it.
It’s unprovable, even to the point of being plausible and only works in the sense that you can change your OWN world. Not others.
Oooohhh, this just gets my blood boiling.
Try reading Blink, a book with actual truth to it.

Isnt fan pressure the reason for Kentucky success in college basketball?

Think about it if Kentucky fans had not said a word they would be stuck right now with 12 loss Tubby instead of Calapari. Kentucky fans put more pressure on a coach than any college team and the results show dont they?

Big Blue Nation gets it done!

But Coach Cal knows what his is doing.

Cats will win!!
