Do you believe in the power of positive thinking?

I wanted to hear inspiring true stories where u believed and it happened… I wanted to encourage a friend of mine (as well as myself) to think more positive thoughts because he is sort of losing hope with his problems and I want him to expect only the best, not the worse out of this. Thanks!

I’m telling u the story of my life… four years back after completing my higher-secondary education, I took admission in Presidency College (which is one of the most prestigeous college in our city). But to be true enough, I was more interested in studying medical science to be a doctor. So I appeared to Joint Entrance Exams (both Medical & Engineering) in the next year, with my all possible efforts. I don’t know u’ll believe me or not, I concentrated all my energies ‘n thoughts in preparing myself for medical-entrance. But unfortunately, I couldn’t clear it at the end… ‘n to my utter surprise, I ranked high in Engineering-entrance. Then I left Presidency ‘n went for Engineering, now I’m in 3rd. year. I clearly remember when I couldn’t clear medical-entrance, my parents treated me just like a burden or liability in their life, my friends laughed at me since I lost one year dreaming to be a doctor ‘n failed finally … I had to face a hard time then. It was the time when I made my mind strong enough to face all odds, I felt like living a hopeless life. Everybody started to underestimate me … the only reason was that I had lost one year. But I didn’t give up, I’m an optimist, positive thinking & hope kept me still alive then, I didn’t forget to have faith on myself. I tried again ‘n stood third in first semester exams in Engg. Then all again started to forget about my past … (now I’m getting on lows again, I got good ranks in previous 3 sem-exams, 4th. sem got bad, rank got lowered, but I do always think positive, positive thinking gives u confidence, I’m looking forward for 5th. sem exam’s success). Tell ur friend that Sir Isaac Newton also went through depressions, but it was only positive-thinking ‘n his continuous efforts that made him a genius.

What are the general costs of life coaching?

I am interested in life coaching. I would like to find out how much it costs and generally what is included. any information would be appreciated.

Hi there –
I am a life coach and I charge $100 per hour. Sessions are roughly about an hour. I am more committed to the work than the fee. Being able to do this work is a blessing and I am flexible if someone wants to do the work but is experiencing lack around money.
Each client has different needs so I have an open commitment, meaning you may choose how often we work together.
I meet with clients via the phone (or in person if you are in the Seattle area). Some clients like to meet twice a month for an hour and a half. ($150/session) or weekly for an hour ($100).
I offer free consultations if you are interested.
Check out the webpage above to learn a bit more about me.
I offer call backs if long distance charges are an issue.

What is the one question you have about how to start a small business?

I am putting together a report for those who want to start a small business from home. As a small business coach, most of my clients already have small home based businesses and I have answers from them about what stopped them from starting earlier.

What I want to know: Specifically, what is it you want to know. What’s the one thing that is keeping you from starting your small home based business (except an idea or money)? Internet based or not.

Thanks for your help.

Vantastic why to pique interest. I love it and will use it starting tomorrow.

Has anyone tried life coaching?

I`ve won a 30 day email programme, book and 2 x 30 mins telephone sessions.
I only entered the competition for the runners up prizes, but I`ve won this instead.
If you have done it, did it change your life? Or is it a waste of time?
Btw – I wasn`t sure which category to put this in.

I have tried it with a few different coaches and had some good experiences and some not so great experiences. For me it was useful. But I think much depends on the individual and the coach. Some people don’t like to discuss details of their life with a "stranger" over the phone. Others have no problem with that and indeed find it easier than talking about goals or problems with people they know. Much like any profession, the quality of life coaches varies widely, and the important part is to find someone you are comfortable with. Some are great, some are a waste of time. Many offer a free first session; use it to find out if the person "feels right". I wouldn’t expect it to radically change your life. I might expect it to help with aspects of your life. The key, as with many things, is how hard you are willing to work. A coach can only guide you; he or she can’t do it for you. I like Stacy at Footstepsforward; but that’s just me. I’d say to give your coach a try, but have a goal in mind that you can accomplish in a month or else I wouldn’t be surprised if you did get a sales pitch.

Does writing in a journal help in personal development?

Does writing in a journal help in personal development?
It wasn’t homework! I was just wondering.

It can help but many do fine without one.
