how personal learning and development may benefit others?

How does your or my personal learning and development benefit others? or may Benefit others?

Personal Development is such a broad industry. It ranges from physical fitness to increasing your income to improving your mindset. Personal Development is the act of developing yourself and as you develop, so will your surroundings. Those you hang around will be influenced by your change.

I think we have all heard of the common idea: If you are going to lift someone else up, you must be standing on higher ground.

Is Singapore Employer not forgiving to fellow Singaporean who took career break for personal development?

Working an employment after another is the working culture in Singapore. We lived once only. We saved enough. We plan enough to sustain the loss of income for a career break. Problem is: will Singapore Employers be forgiving and grant equal opportunity for career breakers? Singapore Employers your view please.

Yes. I noticed that too, if you take a career break for personal development, they will surely ask why. At the same time they will have doubts about your stress level.

My opinion is that you go for your personal development once you are ready make sure that you are getting back into the same line as you are previously in. If you do a total switch, they will surely doubt about your abilities and at the same time will try to pay you as little as possible because you might not have the relevant experience which i do think that its totally ridiculous because not every experience is stand alone.

it has changed my life for better for a while… but it is important to be surrounded by people who think the same way you do, otherwise you get sucked up in the same routine.
it is worth trying though – worked miracles for many people, was really good for me. trying to get back into it.

Positive Thinking ?

I am in sixth grade and i am doing a persuasive speech on positive thinking if you have any reasons why you should think positive or any good websites about positive thinking please tell me !!!

- Positive Thinking imply to the optimism of any person.We think positive especially for the outcome,future and career etc. in order to meet the destination entirely or partially.Good thinking enable us to do anything more carefully,interestingly.It is a mental character which determines a person of professionalism.Let us not go so far,for instance,during an job interview or in the exam hall if you don’t think positively in regard of doing well,you will lose your confidence and probably wont get good result.

I am an independent management consultant. What are some effective ways to market my small business?

My business focus is executive coaching, helping companies develop a strategy around organizational culture, training, succession planning, organizational assessment, and leadership development.

I agree with the first person on here, networking is key. Your local Chamber of Commerce will have tonnes of networking functions for you to attend and advertise your business. There are many professional networking groups or clubs out there – try the BNI (Business Networking International) as there are by far the most organized and the most recognized.

You can also look at your local government office and see what programs they have for business owners. I do a lot of management consulting and, in Canada, we have a government sponsored office in all cities called the Small Business Enterprise Centre. I have volunteered my time for them to teach classes on business and leave all sorts of my marketing materials in their office. You would not believe the amount of business I get from that.
I also find I get a lot of contact from potential clients from my "No Obligation Free Consultation" materials. Whenever I advertise, no matter where it is – in person or in print – I talk about offering a free initial consultation with no obligations. It is a free assessment of their business needs. People love the word free and it draws them in.

What are your thoughts on hiring a Life Coach or a Business Coach that was trained in coaching, skilled and experienced in business and life, but did NOT have a degree?

It depends on how you feel they can help you, and what they are saying they can do to help you. I am a Life & Business Coach and do have a degree, however it is nothing compared to my experience of traveling the world and learning/interacting with my own two hands. I successfully own & operate my own company, but again, I am able to help my clients in a wide variety of ways…That is what keeps me going strong.

I want to start a career in life coaching and self development. Any idea how can I start?

I’m very passionate about self development books especially in the fields of positive thinking, creativity, self-confidence, law of attraction, decision making, problems’ solving…etc. I also noticed I love giving people advices and help them find their way, discover their essence and what truly matters to them.
So I have decided to listen to the inner voice in me and start looking for ways to start switching my career in the field of life coaching. What to do, where to start? I still have no clue.

Congratulations on you decision to create a new life for yourself! Celebrate in knowing that if you are listening to your inner voice, then you are on the best path for you! With your passion and desire to help others I am confident you will be successful. It is but a select few who truly enjoy helping others through their life’s’ journey.

There are many ways to go about becoming a life coach. I took a 3 month course, but to be honest with you, it wasn’t that big of a help. Yes, I was able to connect with other like minded people who also wanted to coach others, but it seemed to cliche and uncomfortable sometimes. Everything had to get done by the book and wasn’t very fulfilling in the end. Depending on your budget, you can choose from countless classes from free to thousands of dollars. Google how to become a life coach and the choices may surprise you.

My advise would be to start looking for others who might want to venture with you. Post a question, give your e-mail so others can reach you. Start a website or a blog and write about your experiences with self development, suggest to others that has worked for you. If you like writing…and most coaches do, then write articles and submit them to free directories.
